GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

2024-05-20

Graphical Abstract is a novelty in the field of scientific publishing and one of the components of a research article. Leading scholar journals are increasingly requesting a “graphical abstract” during submission, which will accompany the article when published online.

Graphical Abstract is a single, concise, illustrated and visual presentation of the main findings of the article, which helps the reader understand the main idea and results of the study in a few seconds.

Graphical Abstract could be a scheme of the most remarkable reaction and/or X-ray of the most interesting product for an organic chemist, a technological scheme of the process under study for a chemical engineer, a scheme of a new analysis method for an analytical chemist, etc. It could be the final figure from the article, or, better yet, a figure specifically designed for this purpose that reflects the content of the article at a glance.

Graphical Abstract Requirements from Our Journal

  •  demonstration of the purpose and results of the study;
  • no text, only clearly readable inscriptions are allowed;
  • accessibility of the text and the meaning of the picture to every person, regardless of the field of study;
  • design and creativity;
  • uniqueness and individuality of the figure;
  • graphical abstract should have a clear beginning and end, preferably read from top to bottom and from left to right;
  • file type: PNG or JPEG;
  • Image size: at least 1205 x 1795 pixels (W x H) with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If you are sending a larger image, use the same 10 x 15 cm ratio.

Overall, a Graphical Abstract should allow readers to quickly understand the essence of the article and determine whether it is relevant to their research interests. Previous studies have shown that articles with Graphical Abstract  receive at least twice as many views compared to articles without visual support.

 Dear Authors! Creating a simple, accessible, and visually appealing Graphical Abstract will greatly benefit your paper! Please take the time to prepare article with interesting Graphical Abstract for the submission in our Eurasian Journal of Chemistry!
