Peer Review Process
The Eurasian Journal of Chemistry accepts articles in English that present the results of original and high‑quality research. Submissions must align with the scope of the journal and be prepared in the form of full research articles as well as author's reviews on topical issues of chemical science in the following sections of the journal: Organic Chemistry, Physical and Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Technology. Submissions that fall outside the scope of the journal will not be considered for publication.
Submitted papers must be open for publication. Any restrictive labels (such as “confidential” or “for internal use only”) constitute grounds for rejection and will not be considered for open publication.
Manuscripts prepared in a template‑based manner without significant scientific novelty, as well as submissions resulting from salami slicing (fragmentation of one study into multiple minimal publications), will not be accepted for publication.
Articles can only be submitted through the journal’s official website using the Online Article Submission System. Submissions must be made directly by the authors (corresponding author); materials submitted via third parties will not be considered.
Authors should send to the Editorial Office the article in electronic form, designed in accordance with the Author Guidelines, as well as a Cover Letter and Graphical Abstract. Within 10 working days of submission, authors will receive First Editorial Decision on their manuscript: it can be declined or sent for peer review.
Submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary evaluation to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, editorial policies, and formatting guidelines. At this stage, the complete article file (including all data, abstract, keywords, references, and author information) is also checked for the presence of borrowed text using plagiarism detection software such as Strikeplagiarism.com and Antiplagiat.com. If issues related to the subject matter, design, or originality are identified, the manuscript will be returned to the authors without peer review, and the authors will be duly notified. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and publication requirements are accepted for consideration and sent for peer review.
The review of scientific manuscripts in the journal is conducted to ensure the quality of published articles, the accuracy and reliability of the presented results, and to maintain a high scientific and theoretical standard of the publication. The review process also serves to select the most relevant and practically significant scientific works. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to peer review.
Reviewers are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief as specialists in the relevant field of research from among the leading specialists in the profile of the article. Review is done via double-blind peer review method. All reviewers must adhere to the ethical requirements of scientific publications, be objective and impartial.
The reviewer evaluates the article for relevance of the topic and scientific novelty, the appropriateness of the methods used by the authors, the reliability of the results, as well as its structure and presentation style (quality of translation into English). All comments and suggestions for the article are made out in a review.
The make the following recommendations regarding the publication of the article:
1. Accept – if the manuscript contains no errors and meets the requirements of relevance and originality of scientific research. In this case, the manuscript is included in the list of articles scheduled for publication in the journal;
2. Minor / Major Revisions – In this case, the manuscript is returned to the authors for revision. After the revised version is submitted, the Editorial Board sends the manuscript for another round of review. If the reviewer continues to raise significant concerns, the manuscript is rejected by the Editorial Board without the possibility of further revision;
3. Reject – In this case, the manuscript is either rejected by the editors or, in exceptional circumstances, sent for re‑review. Re‑review is permitted only once for the same manuscript.
The editors reserve the right to refuse publication of a manuscript if the author disregards the reviewer’s comments. The reviewer also has the right to perform an additional check for borrowed text in the manuscript using available Internet search tools.
Reviewers evaluate submissions within 3-4 weeks.
After receiving the reviews, the Editorial Board evaluates the manuscripts based on the reviewers’ recommendations. A final decision is then made by the editors regarding acceptance or rejection of the article. Based on the editorial decision, a notification letter is sent on behalf of the Editorial Board to the corresponding author’s email address.
Prepress preparation of an article for publication is mandatory and includes literary and technical editing, as well as monitoring compliance with the journal’s formatting standards and publication rules. The Editorial Board may proceed with literary or technical corrections without the authors’ approval, and the editors do not engage in discussions with authors regarding such corrections.
Accepted articles are published in the Online First format, which allows them to appear online ahead of the regular issue. Each article is assigned a DOI upon acceptance and becomes officially citable.
