General Requirements for Manuscripts

Overlapping the thematic focus of the journal. The study must be carried out in the chemical field and contain new knowledge in the field of chemistry. The object of research may be chemical substances and/or chemical reactions. The manuscript must correspond to one of the thematic sections of the journal: Organic Chemistry, Physical and Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Technology.

Originality and Novelty. The research material presented in the manuscript must be new and original, not previously published anywhere. The manuscript must meet the requirements of originality and novelty not only in terms of text, but also in terms of new knowledge in the field of chemistry.

Logical presentation. The manuscript should be structured according to the IMRAD format. All sections of the manuscript should be logically interconnected so that readers can understand the research problem, the purpose of the study, the research methodology, the obtained results and conclusions, and also the impact of the study on the development of a specific field of scientific knowledge.

Manuscript completeness. The study must be completed, and the purpose of the study must be achieved. The authors' conclusions must be reasonable, not preliminary, and not contain generalizations reflecting generally known results.

Presentation style. The text of the manuscript should be written in an academic scientific style and presented in competent professional English. All borrowed and little-known terms should be clarified. It is recommended to avoid ambiguity of statements and ambiguity in the interpretation of the basic concepts.

Statistical processing of experimental data. The manuscript should contain a short (for generally accepted) or detailed (for methods proposed by the authors) description of the method of statistical processing of experimental data and the results of this processing. Experimental data in the text, tables and graphs should be presented as a confidence interval.

Design of the Manuscript

Article size. The minimum size of an article is 5 pages, the maximum size is 15 pages of text typed on a computer (Microsoft Word editor), including a References list.

Text Format.  Document margin size: 25 mm top and bottom, 20 mm right and left. Font: 11 pt Times New Roman. Line spacing: single. Alignment: width. Paragraph indent: 0.8 cm.

The structure of the manuscript includes the following sections:

  • Title: UDC (universal decimal code) for the research topic, information about the authors (names, affiliations, city, country, email address of the corresponding author), title of the article;
  • Abstract: is written according to the IMRAD structure (research problem, research methods, obtained results, conclusions and proposals for the further development of the scientific direction). The abstract size is 180-200 words;
  • Keywords: at least 8-10 basic terms or short phrases used in the article;
  • Introduction: an introduction to the research problem, a brief review of the most significant publications, a demonstration what has already been done in this scientific area and what gaps exist, explanation of the relevance and novelty of the study; clear and specific formulation of the purpose of the study;
  • Experimental (Materials and Methods): a complete and detailed description of the materials and research methods, sufficient to reproduce the experiment by other scientists. The brand, manufacturer, and country must be indicated for each reagent and device. The methodology of statistical processing of experimental data should be presented;
  • Results and Discussion: a description and interpretation of the research results with numbers, tables, graphs, figures. The digital data of all direct and indirect measurements, repetition which is practically possible, should be accompanied by evaluation of uncertainty of measurement results in accordance with GOST 34100.1-2017, GOST 34100.3-2017. The results of unique (random) measurements should be characterized taking into account the accuracy of the used instruments. The uncertainty assessment method should be mentioned in the Experimental section and the results of its application included in the Results and Discussion section;
  • Conclusions: detailed and proven conclusions must be presented taking into account the stated purpose of the study; comparison of the obtained results with existing ones; assessment of the scientific novelty and practical value of the study and its results;
  • Supporting Information: a link to the Supplementary Materials file (optionally) containing a relevant material that is additional to the main article. It may contain large data sets, tables or spectra, or any other research information that may clutter the main text of the article, but which is necessary for a deep understanding of the study (see Supplementary Materials template);
